In Het Huis met de Kogel, a beautiful monumental building right opposite LUTTIK boutique hotel, coffee bar, concept store, we have created a spacious, stylish and unique apartment for (maximum) six people.
A place where you can feel at home, whether you come to stay for two nights or for weeks. The apartment offers authentic luxury in the form of our own LUTTIK style, history, a beautiful location in the old town of Alkmaar, an informal atmosphere and really wonderful beds.
The “House with the Bullet” is perhaps the most famous building in Alkmaar and has great historical value.
During the Spanish Siege of 1573, a Spanish cannonball hit the wooden facade of this house. The then residents were unharmed, but the bullet is ‘still’ in the facade of this centuries-old building to this day.

The apartment in Het Huis met de Kogel is truly unique.
Not only because our LUTTIK style is unique, but also because The House with the Bullet is such a special national monument.
The history and authenticity of the building provide a lot of atmosphere, but also the charm of authentic crooked floors, low-hanging historic beams (watch your head!), stained glass windows and beautiful, but very old, steep, wooden spiral staircases.
In combination with the LUTTIK touch of today, consisting of the use of natural materials and colors, original elements such as glass floor (parts), a desk with swing and a glass (insulation) wall for the entire wooden facade (restoring the original wooden facade construction remains visible), the apartment offers a stylish, cozy place for those who are looking for a special, attractive and comfortable stay.
The apartment
The apartment has an entrance from the ground floor of Het Huis met de Kogel and is located on the first, second and third floors of the building.
On the first floor you will find a hall with coat rack and a cozy double bedroom (Kingsize Hastens bed (180-210), possibly made up as two single beds) with stained glass windows and a view of the old city. There is also a spacious bathroom with shower, sink, separate toilet and a washing machine room on this floor.
On the second floor you enter the lovely living room with beamed ceiling. There is a double linen sofa bed in the sitting area, a TV, a desk, a six-person dining table and an open kitchen with Nespresso machine, milk frother, kettle, induction hob, dishwasher and refrigerator.
On the spacious third (attic) floor there is a beautiful large double bedroom with a king-size Hastens bed (180-210), free-standing bath, a sink and separate toilet.
In the apartment, the master bedroom has a lovely double Hästens bed (1.80 x 2.10 m) and the second bedroom has two single Hastens beds (0.90 x 2.10 m, which can also be made up as a double bed). All beds (including the sofa bed) have airy down duvets from White CLoudz, fine linen bedding from Passion for Linen, soft cotton towels from House in Style and warm woolen throws.
You will also find a hairdryer and wonderfully scented care products from Marie Stella Maris in the apartment.
A baby bed can be placed in the apartment if necessary.
The bedroom and living room on the first and second floor offer a view of the Appelsteeg, the canal and drawbridge. From the master bedroom in the attic you have a nice view of the famous Alkmaarse Waag, where the cheese market takes place in the summer.
You can use fast WIFI for free in Het Huis met de Kogel. There is also an interactive TV with various foreign channels (English, Belgian, German, Italian).
The House with the Bullet is a centuries-old monument with steep, narrow stairs (with irregular shallow steps) and is therefore unfortunately not suitable for guests with mobility problems.
There is no air conditioning in our historic building. Each bedroom does have a fan.
The location in the middle of the lively city center obviously means that city noises cannot be completely kept out.
And do not forget…. ‘Everything’ in the apartment is for sale!
Breakfast
When you stay in Het Huis met de Kogel you can use the breakfast service of LUTTIK boutique hotel.
Breakfast at LUTTIK/Het Huis met de Kogel is a little different than usual. The ‘LUTTIK’ way. In the apartment (and in the coffee bar) you will find our breakfast menu. You can order all breakfast dishes and drinks in any combination separately (at the coffee bar) for the next morning. Would you please place this order before 6:00 PM? Please let us know immediately what time you would like to have breakfast.
We can bring breakfast to the apartment in a picnic basket (between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM), but if you prefer to have breakfast at a table set by us on the ground floor of Het Huis met de Kogel, this is of course also possible. Or in the summer on our terrace on the canal!
Parking
Parking is most convenient in Schelphoek Parking Garage, about a 5-minute walk from LUTTIK.
You can buy an exit ticket from us (costs: 10 Euro). You only need this exit ticket when you leave the parking garage.
It is possible to order the exit ticket in advance when you reserve the apartment via our website.

Bicycle parking
If you come to LUTTIK by bike or you have brought your bicycle with you, you can choose to park your bicycle in the free, guarded covered bicycle shed, which is located about a 5-minute walk from LUTTIK:

If you reserve the apartment directly via our website, we can offer you the best price.
In addition, you can indicate when making your reservation whether you would like to have a bottle of mineral water (still or sparkling), a bottle of red wine or a chilled bottle of white wine, rosé or CAVA ready for you in the apartment as an extra service.
You can check in (at the coffee bar of LUTTIK Boutiquehotel) between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. If you cannot make it, please let us know in advance, then a late(er) check-in is of course also possible. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to check in after 11:00 PM.
After arriving at LUTTIK, take a look at our breakfast menu and let us know what you would like to eat the next morning and at what time.
Cancellation is possible free of charge up to 1 month before the reserved date. If you wish to cancel a reservation within 1 month before arrival, the costs of the overnight stay(s) will be charged in full.
Up to 2 weeks before the reserved date, it is still possible to move your reservation to another date free of charge. The new reservation must be made within three months of the reserved date. It is no longer possible to change the reservation dates within 2 weeks before arrival.
If the reservation was made on weekdays (Sunday – Thursday), the new reservation will have to be made again on weekdays.
If the new date ultimately does not suit you, the new date can be moved again provided that this is communicated at least two weeks before the newly reserved date.
