         One of the more enjoyable ways to see the sights in Alkmaar and the surrounding areas is by boat.

You can rent a boat to explore the canals of Alkmaar at different rental companies in Alkmaar. It is really nice to see the cty from the wateren to enjoy the liveliness on the water.

You can also make longer trips with a boat. For example, you can sail to the village Bergen (a nice route of about 2 hours, with nice picnic and swimming spots along the way), but a route over a canal with a row of old windmills along it, or a trip towards and over the Alkmaardermeer, are also options !

You can rent a nice luxury boat at Buiten met Buiter (www.buitenmetbuiter.nl).

But you can also rent small boats at Alkmaarse Bootjesverhuur (www.alkmaarsebootjesverhuur.nl).

If you prefer not to sail yourself, we can also arrange a boat with skipper / guide for you. You will then make a nice tour through Alkmaar and you will immediately learn more about the city and its surroundings!

From April to October, from Monday to Saturday, this boat departs every hour on the hour. In the period May to September also on Sundays.
